Clear
Creek WhitewaterPark in Golden, CO.-designed by Gary Lacy, opened
in 1998 and expanded in 2003. The features stretch for nearly a mile and
include several great surfing waves. The park can be crowded with kayakers
on the first quarter mile stretch. Don't be aftraid to head downstream
to the library hole which is generally less crowded and offers great suring
complete with an autoload eddy on the river right side. The last surfing
wave is downstream from the Washington St. bridge at the edge of Parfet
park at 10th & Washington Street in Golden. Parking is limited both
at Lions
Park put-in and Parfet park takeout. Alternate takeout is downstream
at Vanover
Park at Water & Ford Street in Golden. Don't go any further downstream
or you will end up in Coors.
Clear Creek
Festival - generally held the first weekend in June at the Clear Creek
Whitewater Park. RipBoard will provide demos so mark your calendar and join us for a fun day riverboarding.
